Patch error when updating Acquia Lightning to 3.2.0 from 3.1.7

Hi
I am updating Acquia Lightning from 3.1.7 to 3.2.0 as per the URL https://github.com/acquia/lightning/blob/8.x-4.x/UPDATE.md

When you hit the below commands,

composer update

Gathering patches for root package.
Removing package drupal/core so that it can be re-installed and re-patched.

I have tried different approach given in the google, but nothing works, so could you pleas suggest or give guidance in fixing the above issue?
