Multiple Issues with Shopping List Functionality (Checkboxes, Deletion, Item Addition)

I’ve encountered several issues with the shopping list functionality in the iOS version of the app. These problems persist across multiple devices and even after reinstalling the app. Below are the details:

1. Checklist items cannot be marked as completed
   • Some items on the shopping list cannot be checked off.
   • If I delete the shopping list and re-add it (e.g., from a recipe), a different set of items may become uncheckable.

2. Shopping lists from recipes cannot always be deleted
   • Lists that are generated by adding a recipe sometimes cannot be deleted using the trash bin icon.
   • The only way to remove them in these cases is by using the “Delete All” option via the menu in the top right corner.

3. Individual items cannot always be added
   • Occasionally, pressing the Add button when trying to insert a custom item into the shopping list does nothing.
   • This seems to happen randomly and is not tied to a specific recipe or list.

Tested on:
• Multiple iPhones (iOS 18.5)
• Fresh install of the app
• iPad (iPadOS 18.5)

I have slso noticed these issues on my iPhone running iOS 18.6.2, and my wife has pointed it out as well. She runs the same iOS but slightly older iPhone hardware.

I have done some simple tests of adding items from a recipe in different orders, limiting to ingredients containing numbers, ingredients not containing numbers, etc., and don’t see any pattern as to which items can be checked off or which lists can be deleted. E.g., from a single recipe I simply added “Salt to taste” and nothing else, and sometimes I could check it off, but sometimes I couldn’t. I didn’t see a pattern to when it would work (I.e., it worked twice in a row, then didn’t, then every other time, then didn’t work a few times in a row, etc.)

The only thing I would add to @makabie’s list is that I sometimes cannot delete a custom list unless I use the delete all function (I.e., the issue noted for recipe lists seems to apply to the “Other” list as well).

Thank you again for your work on this app. Even with this issue it’s still among my most used on my phone.
