@jmontp is there a reason this class has to be used with only floats? Did you ever try with other variable types? I would love to send a dictionary, but wanted to see if you knew about a problem with trying to do that.

You can technically send anything, as long as you can serialize it. I just left it as a float since didn't want to deal with setting up something more general at the time. You can check out ZMQ source code for some examples of how to send other/more complex data types:
