Would it be a good idea to have a native media-player Sendspin integration component inside Home Assistant for controls + audio announcements?
Main use case is automations of media-player + for text-to-speech announcements from Home Assistant to Sendspin capable smart speakers. See:
and
Other uses cases are management/configuration of groups (for multiroom, inc. stereo pairing and inverse speaker channels from L/R to R/L, etc.), and controlling things like playback controls, mute, volume control, scene select, input and output source selection, mode selection, or powering on/off.
I guess a common scenario in the future if broader adopted will be to have third-party smart speakers / audio recievers that feature Sendspin clients.
Imaginge for example if WiiM adds a Sendspin client to their smart audio recievers, then it might be nice to be able to make audio announcements to them directly from Home Assistant using the Sendspin protocol, (even if it just an option and it could be possible to use other protocols on them).
That is, not all Sendspin clients will be based on ESPHome, nor will everyone be using Music Assistant so can not always rely on it being there.
PS: Home Assistant's core already got components for native integrations of other audio protocols that are probably mainly used for announcements:
Examples of other integration that could try to match feature-wise and functionality with:
PPS: Noticed that the HEOS, LinkPlay, MusicCast, and the Bluesound integrations can all be used to create and manage speaker groups (grouping for speakers for multi-room or stereo-pairs, etc.).
