Feature/Idea
Crying Obsidian
The fluid interaction between Lava and Poison creates Crying Obsidian, however this is more akin to the Vanilla Cobblestone reaction than Vanilla Obsidian reaction. This leads to balance issues, where the highly durable Crying Obsidian (also used in certain important crafting recipes) is no longer a rare resource, but easily renable with only minimal Aether exploring. This issue is further compounded by the fact that many mods allow you convert Crying Obsidian into regular Obsidian, which has even more uses.
I like the idea of Crying Obsidian being a product of these reactions, but it should only occur when the Lava source block is consumed, just like in Vanilla with regular Obsidian. In case where the fluids meet, but the Lava source is not consumed, I think the product should be something like Cobbled Aseterite (the purple color seems fitting) Similarly, if the Water source block is consumed, the product could be smooth Aseterite, just like how a consumed Water source block leaves behind regular Stone in Vanilla.
Alternatively, you could add some sort of Blighted variant of Holystone (Called Blightstone or Blightrock maybe) that is produced by these reactions, and is also generated in Blighted biomes. I don't know that this is necessary, but it would have the added benefit of making Blighted biomes a little more unique. As it stands I don't feel like the really feel quite as "Blighted" as they should be.
Aersmog Purifying
Aersmog should be usable in either the Freezer or Enchanter (not sure which is more appropriate) to produce Cold Aerclouds. Aersmog is sort of useless right now, but if you allowed it to be purified into Cold Aerclouds (which can themselves be turned into Blue or Golden Aerclouds) this would make Aerclouds of all types (except Sterling, which needs to be rare for balance reasons) effectively a renewable resource. Aside from making parachutes, Aerclouds are only really used for decor purposes (for example, making a castle floating on clouds) but getting them in bulk quantities is difficult.
Since Aersmog is renewable via Poison+Water fluid interactions, adding an Aersmog purification recipe would allow builders to get vast quantities of Aerclouds without stripping the Aether of natural platforming features. This also wouldn't upset balance in any way, since Aerclouds themselves are not used for anything particularly valuable.
Issue 283 Remedy Compat
#283 Suggests placeable Remedy fluid. I don't really have anything to say regarding balance, but I have some ideas for the products of fluid interactions, which I will list below:
- Remedy+Water=Golden Aercloud (inspired by Poison+Water)
- Remedy+Lava=Holystone (inspired by Vanilla Water+Lava, and the changed to Poision+Lava I recommended above)
- Remedy+Poison=Clorite (weakest suggestion IMO, but I have no other ideas TBH)
Value of Proposition
Most of the specifics are explained above, however the general value is better game balance and utility.
