native phone navigation buttons not accessible

On my phone screen, Android provides three buttons at the bottom for navigation, including a back button. In the PyCon app those buttons are not there. This makes navigation awkward and sometimes difficult.

Very few other apps on my phone hide the system navigation buttons. I'd find it helpful to have the buttons available. If this was a deliberate design decision then please consider giving the option to show the buttons.

Had the same issue - for me the buttons are there and usable, but since the app is fullscreen with a white background the white navigation buttons are not visible. As a workaround I changed the theme to dark.

Ah, I've verified the buttons are there and work, but the same color as the app background.
