I tried to use your program on Debian 9. It says:

INFO[0000] Cannot set time zone to UTC: Error 2003: Authentication with backend failed. Session will be closed.

How can I solve this problem? I need to test my database cluster.

Could you tell me which MySQL version and flavor are you using?

@percona-csalguero my db is mariadb (MySQL version 10.3.10). I use Debian 9 latest. I made a load test on my mariadb cluster (each server 8GB RAM, 16core cpu, 75GB SSD disk). But I am upset, 1m records took 4hours! Then I want to use your program for testing purpose.

Got the same "issue". Neither it is an issue from the program nor from MySql, it's just that you must specify the user and password for that user (if needed). To check for the current user you can use:

shell> sudo mysql -u root -p
mysql> SELECT CURRENT_USER();
# sample output
+----------------+
| CURRENT_USER() |
+----------------+
| root@localhost |
+----------------+
1 row in set (0.00 sec)

here as you can see I'm logged in as user root without a password (because I removed it), so in my case, I have to run:

shell> sudo mysql_random_data_load test_01 test 5 --user=root

I'll work, just use the appropriate flags.

Hey I am getting a similar error

# ./mysql_random_data_load test test_table 100 --user=root
INFO[0000] Cannot set time zone to UTC: dial unix localhost: connect: no such file or directory

any ideas?
