Add from Event Logs to Existing Base Policy in a Git-Friendly Way

Hi, looking for the best method to add policy via Event Logs to an existing Base Policy. I understand that I can create a policy using the App Control Wizard from the event logs, then merge new policy into my existing base policy. However, when doing a merge in the App Control Wizard, all existing IDs are changed, so it looks like most of the file changed to git, even if only 1 rule was added. I don't have this problem when doing an edit in the App Control Wizard and adding the rules that way. I hope that the solution isn't to manually edit the policy file to merge them.
