I am in the process of procuring parts for a BambuHelper for a Bambu user friend who has assisted me with builds.
Today, I saw a project on XDA that used the following device that I think would be perfect for your project. It has the same screen and ESP32-SC integrated, touchscreen, battery and speaker support onboard AND three integrated pushbuttons, microSD card reader, etc. etc. and is $18 for the basic under $25 in the most complete board, but all include the case too. No issues of interference with the radio either.
Device from Waveshare: https://www.waveshare.com/esp32-s3-lcd-1.54.htm?&aff_id=VolosProjects
Does this look interesting enough to you to consider coding for the device. I come from a programming era before C++, and although I can read and modify code to some extent, my development days were for Fortran, COBOL, Basic, etc.
I would love to hear your thoughts.
