Adding picture from gallery leads to error message

Description
User is not able to add picture from gallery when creating a new signal /adding picture in a comment.
Severity:
-Critical when the user took a picture and is adding the signal details on the go.
-Major when the user is near and can go and make new pictures with the camera option.

Steps to reproduce:
1.Open application and login with valid credentials
2.Click on create new signal
3.Add a picture by selecting "Choose existing"

Expected result
After the user permits access to his gallery he can select a picture and complete the signal.

Actual result
The user was not asked to give permission to gallery and an error message is shown:
"Sorry we could not open the gallery without your permission.",

Test data on 2 mobile devices(same results):
Version 5.4.3
Device1 - POCO F4 GT (1080 x 2400)px
Android version- 14 UKQ1.240624.001
Device2 - Realme C55 (1080 x 2400)px
Android version- 13
