Combined Datasets Implementation - Status

Completed

✓ Backend API creates combined datasets (early + election day + mail-in) ✓ Combined datasets marked with votingMethod: 'combined' ✓ Method breakdown included in API response ✓ Frontend displays method breakdown badges ✓ Election day data uploaded successfully (17,168 records) ✓ URL analyzer fixed to detect election metadata correctly

Current Issues

1. Dropdown Label

  • First item shows "Early Voting" instead of "Complete Election"
  • Code sets label correctly but may not be loading latest JS
  • Need hard refresh with cache clear

2. Sorting/Grouping

  • Datasets not properly grouped by year
  • A 2026 Election Day dataset (23,025) appears after 2022 data
  • Year separators not visible between groups

3. Duplicate Election Day Data

  • Two 2026 Election Day datasets exist:
    • One with 17,168 voters (correct - just uploaded)
    • One with 23,025 voters (unknown source)

Data Verification

Hidalgo County 2026 Primary (from verification script):

  • Early Voting: 61,527 (Democratic: 48,539 | Republican: 12,988)
  • Election Day: 17,168 (Democratic: 10,997 | Republican: 6,171)
  • Mail-In: 1,341 (Democratic: 1,096 | Republican: 245)
  • Total: 80,036 voters

Next Steps

  1. Investigate duplicate 2026 Election Day dataset (23,025 voters)
  2. Verify backend sorting logic is working correctly
  3. Ensure frontend loads latest JavaScript (cache issue)
  4. Test year separators are visible in dropdown
