hi there, after many hours i finally got the program build on 2 different computers.
have never opened a Terminal in my life.

been trying to make it work with my tactrix cable but it does not seems to work or find the cable drivers at all

pls can someone help me out , really appreciate it.

So install it separately and put the DLL / .SO library in the Freessm folder :-)

It still did not work, i moved the file op20pt32.dll from openport 2.0 files to the Fressm folder

Did you ever figure this out? I have the same issue on both install methods of virtual Ubuntu and qt install but the drivers and tactrix works with ecuflash.

Unfortunately not, can't seem to reach out to anyone neither they have replied. It's frustrating

For a windows build make sure you build it with mingw 32bit i use qt 5.15 then if your system is 64 bit try to export .reg from "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\PassThruSupport.04.04"
(recheck that you have a proper driver install )
and add it to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PassThruSupport.04.04"
if the FreeSSM now can detect some interface try to rebuild with this
(change from .txt to .cpp) and replace it in FreeSSM-master\src\windows

after that remove "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PassThruSupport.04.04"
rebuild freeSSM and try again

Thanks for this I got it working but I didn’t have to do any of the passthru stuff. I was using 5.9 32bit so I installed and loaded up 5.15 and rebuilt freessm again to see if it would find the drivers and it worked flawlessly.

If you haven’t got this to work You should try and go to the qt installer application and click on the custom install option. Either the next step or the one after there is a drop down menu that has an archive selection box, click that and then get qt 5.15 and install it. Delete the freessm-master and freessm folders if you have them and start over using mingw32 5.15. I did this and now it finds all the drivers and free Ssm works like it should.

Well this cable work because I cannot get the original cable they I guess are out of stock and they're preparing for the 3.0 so it's going to be a while and I have a Subaru burning about 6 miles per gallon and empty in my wallet it has a j25 swap in a 05 Subaru outback XT I need to basically be able to program and tune my ECU on top of other things

Update.... SUBIE school is a tough School, but rewarding when you start to actually see progress from where you started which for me was with a guy that sold it with a stripped out bolt on the alternator so the serpentine was super loose so the battery light was on and the list goes on and on and on and on the things that he did wrong that were simple to fix but not fixed cause they perfect Storm of havoc on my system. Thinking last things going to be either replace the O2 sensor or possibly one of the plugs got sort of fouled hoping they will be cleared cuz it seems like it is clearing the more I drive without flooding it, meaning baby in the throttle. Positive note went from actual about 4 miles per gallon to them up and about 14 miles per gallon range so heading in the right direction 👍 the newest one being changing the gas cap even though it seemed okay it was older, tried everything but the cruise control was intermittent and I noticed taking off the cap and putting it back on the deactivated it for a period, so logically 12 bucks was spendable and it seems to have gotten rid of it 24 hours now. 🤞
