I had this issue for a while now with no solution at all, i did my research and found nothing as my terminal looks perfectly normal. I was thinking of it having to do with my haxe libraries but that doesn't make any sense considering i downloaded the already compiled one.

There's a couple of Linux variants of this issue already over here on this repository, #903 perhaps being the core one. That comes from Codename's Lime dependency.

Specifically, Lime on Linux calls (the outdated) lsb-release twice to fetch system information, particularly due to different parameters being required. If lsb-release is missing, then Lime freezes with zero fallback. This comes from the implementation Lime uses to run the commands in the first place, which blocks execution of the current thread until stdout is available.

On Windows, this process is different: it sets the OS name immediately to windows, and for all other information about the system, it calls into the C++ backend to retrieve this information. The functions generally resolve to ones found in this source file. Windows on its own doesn't call any custom commands in this fashion.

That being said, this does appear to be an intermediate issue of sorts. The initial mod switching logic appears to work, and so does the Discord RPC system. With that information, what happens when you close the application (press on the X on the main Codename Engine window)? If that is successful, are you able to press F3 twice to open the FPS counter's verbose output?

Hm, I'm aware that Radeon graphics cards appear to have lower quality support for shaders than NVIDIA. Does your mod use some kind of shader?

Has Codename been able to run fine beforehand? Is there a file called lime.ndll in the same directory?

yes a couple mods where they used source worked fine, and yes the file is there

Have you been able to verify the Codename versions of those mods, and if so, what versions are they? Is the mod in the image a source mod?

I'm not entirely sure but the mods are Project Chino's Chaos, and GameBreaker bundle. Are the ones i believe are codenames and I have played perfectly fine

What version of Project Chino's Chaos were you using? That, and if you are referring to Breaker Bundle, then that doesn't seem to be a Codename mod; rather, that's a modified Psych Engine mod, at least per the wiki... unless you're thinking of Soulles DX, which uses a pre-legacy build.

Hm, that appears to be using a pre-legacy version of Codename, knowing that it was released in 2024.

Have you perhaps tried a nightly build? You can find it either in GitHub's Actions tab, or on the website under "experimental downloads." If you did try a nightly build, did you also try downloading Codename from the "releases" section on the main page?

Hm... is the mod done through a modpack, in that case, or is it done through forking (that is, having a custom version of the main Codename repository and then compiling manually)?

That being said, I've also checked online; on my system, I use an NVIDIA GTX 1080TI graphics card while yours is the AMD Radeon RX 580, which should've released right after the 1080TI by one month. I'm unfamiliar with Radeon besides I believe one of the older GPUs, but I'd at least assume that Lime should have compatibility with that GPU.
