Customize the grading scheme

Hi,
I teach in Switzerland and we mark students on 6, rounded to halves (1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, etc.).
Currently the Scale to option is an scaled average to the provided value.

Describe the solution you'd like

It would be great to be able to customize the customize the Scale to option either by providing our own function in some way or by simply entering a table corresponding to a grading scheme.

Would a rounding parameter do the work? e.g. round the grades to integers, round up to 0.5 in your case, round up to 0.1, etc.?
I guess it would indeed be an easy way to implement the behaviour you want.

No, unfortunately. We do not always use a linear grading function. For example, we sometime use what is called the "barème fédéral" which is

$$\dfrac{\text{nb pts obtained}}{\text{total nb pts}}\cdot 5 +1$$

or other grading tables such as the ones which can be found on https://bareme.ch (not an official ressource) and shows you the grading function with a threshold (seuil).

If there could be an option for a linear function (the actual solution), a function with a threshold and the formula for the barème fédéral, all this rounded to the closest half integer, that would be amazing.

To summarize, there would be the following options:

• The linear function (already existing). A rounding feature might be added.
• The threshold would consist of a clamping? Applying a min and max function to put boundaries to the grade ?
• A custom formula.

All these four settings could be combined and applied at the same time specifying:

• An "out of" value
• A rounding strategy (step, ceil, floor, round)
• A min and a max
• A custom formula that would be applied after or before the other settings.

Pas sûr de comprendre, mais dans mon cas, le seuil fait référence à la note qui correspond au seuil de passage, donc à 4 chez nous. Il peut être mis au x% du total des points. Cette option englobe le cas précédent, si on indique le seuil à 50% que la note qui correspond au seuil de passage est à la moitié de l'option "scale to". On pourrait plus simplement indiquer la note minimale (qui n'est pas le 0, mais le 1 chez nous), la note correspondant au seuil et la note maximale, puis un seuil en %.

A custom formula.

Le cas le plus général qui engloberait les deux cas précédents, mais qui demande de pouvoir intépréter une formule de l'utilisateur, donc plus difficile à implémenter, il me semble.

Pour moi, round est suffisant, je n'arrive pas à penser à une utilisation d'une autre fonction dans le cadre d'une évaluation.

Je dirais que la formule est appliquée avant d'arrondir, donc dans ce cas.

1. Choix du barème (A. linéaire, B. seuil avec spécification du seuil, de la note minimale, de la note correspondant au seuil et de la note maximale, C. formule personnalisée)
2. Choix d'arrondir ou non après le calcul de la note

En effet c’est étrange de parler anglais alors qu’on est tous les deux francophones 😅

Comme il s’agit de paramétrages assez avancés, je me vois bien implémenter ça en proposant uniquement un paramétrage d’arrondi, et un champ où entrer une formule JavaScript (donc qui peut effectuer n’importe quel calcul complexe et utiliser des fonctions mathématiques).
Le champ "ramener sur", ou "scale to" en anglais (que j’ai appelé "out of"), serait gardé.

Le plus simple serait d’ajouter ces paramètres au niveau de la fenêtre des paramètres des niveaux de notes, mais ils seront alors communs à tous les barèmes.
