Crash when Adding a new Page

Hi there,

Many thanks for your efforts on PDF4Teachers.

On Microsoft Windows 11 Professional

While running the App and selecting Add New White Page, then the system crashes and could complete the operation
I have to force the application to close. I have tried it many times

Error Message:

C:\Users\Lookma\AppData\Local\Temp\tempFile2449854555288053405.pdf -> D:\PDF-TOOLKITs\PDF4Teachers\PACKAGES\PDF4Teachers\TestDriveFolder\cheat_sheet_pandoc.pdf: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process

I think this is an application bug. There was no other application or process using the file. It was open by PDF4Teachers only

Hi,
This error usually occurs if the PDF has already been opened in another application that locks the file.
Do you have the same issue when rotating and moving pages?
Do you have the issue on all PDFs (you can try to make a copy of an existing PDF to ensure it isn’t locked by anything)?
What version of PDF4Teachers are you using ? I can’t reproduce this in v1.4.3.

Hi,

The error is still there.
No other application is running, and the PDF is only opened in PDF4Teacher.
Now, I added margins, but it won't save or update and won't close, no matter what I do.
Please see below in version 1.4.3:

Could this be an issue with the Windows platform?

I have to force close it through Windows 11 Task Manager

Hi @sanyaade-teachings,

Does the error occurs every time you edit the source PDF?
(adding margins, deleting pages, reorganizing pages, ...)
Is there cases in which you don’t have the error?

I will look at it more carefully, it could be a PDF4Teachers bug, but it is strange that you are the only one encountering this bug.

Hi @sanyaade-teachings,

After reviewing again this issue, I think it do is a bug of PDF4Teachers. Can you press Ctrl+Alt+C after reproducing the issue, maximize the opened window, take a screenshot, and send it here?
Hence I will be able to debug this more easily.

I also provided some fixes to issues related to document saving. Can you reproduce this issue in the new v1.4.4 release ?
