This issue concerns a request to facilitate the use of spreadsheets for people to prepare grammatical data and enter these into the database website.
Current Situation
Currently data entries can be edited and/or added through Bulk Edit per section, i.e. DIALECTNR/grammar/SECTIONNR?edit=1, e.g. Section 1.0 of Dialect 29: 29/grammar/1.0?edit=1 or per feature, i.e. 29/feature/1.1.1./edit. This is all very good.
Request
I was wondering whether it would be possible to add the following feature:
The feature allows one to add a maximal coverage of data directly from a spreadsheet. I created the spreadsheet below, which should correspond to the database website:
nena_dialect_input_sheet_beta_2.xlsx
This could be automatic by uploading the spreadsheet, or in the form of a master bulk edit, i.e. the user copies the second column of the spreadsheet for one dialect and pastes it into the bulk edit area that covers all the sections for this particular dialect.
Let me know if anything is not clear enough. At any rate, what do you think?
Thanks for your input!
