esp32 and scattered LEDs

Hello, I flashed an ESP32 with the power supply and the din on pin 32, but the LEDs are scattered. What am I doing wrong? Thank you very much.

I'm having the same problem (including the same display as above). I added a dev.json file and none of the matrix settings 0-2 as we;; as 3 and 4 I tried for good measure seem to fix it after reboot. I tried the JSON value as both a numeric (without quotes) and as a string (with quotes) as documented.

My matrix is WS2812B and a vertical serpentine, starting in the upper left and going down, then up the next column, down the third and so on. It doesn't even seem to change to a different pattern if I put these different values in. I'd think that it would scramble in a different way, even if the matrix value is wrong, if different matrix values were having an effect.

sebax80, try this in your dev.json file:

I looked at the source code and the documentation said rotate_display flipped it upside down, but the source code shows it's 90, not 180. I went back and tried rotate_display set to true and it worked on my WS2812b matrix.

That looks like a standard matrix, so im pretty sure one of the matrix modes will cover it.
Make sure you have no leading space in your dev.json. the web editor will show you errors with red dots.
