Do identical object produce the same hash from different IPFS providers?

To elaborate a bit more, as long as the object is identical, and the provider does not add any garbage over the object.

This led me to an idea about a "progressive web app" with offline capabilites using IPFS, it could work spawning a local node working in the browser to generate deterministic hashes from the content, and then propagating/pinning that content when it detects online connection, it is something that probably somebody already thought about 🤷‍♂️
