Issue providing Avif as the input

I can get this plugin working with jpg, svg etc, but if I provide an avif file as my input I always seem to get the following error message:-

heif: Invalid input: Unspecified: Bitstream not supported by this decoder

I don't know if this is a bug or if I am doing something wrong. All my images are already avifs, I am simply wanting the plugin to provide me with smaller sizes.

I am using Eleventy 3, Node 23, Eleventy-img 6.

I have tried going back previous versions to no avail. Even trying to force an older version of Sharp.

The docs appear to suggest that Avif is an acceptable input so I am not sure what is going wrong here..

I believe lovell/sharp#2688 is the upstream issue you need to have a look at!
